What more to expect from the Beltwide

At the reception dinner I had the pleasure to converse with many different people, one of whom was Bill Robertson with the National Cotton Council. I didnt realize unitl about halfway into the conversation that Bill is the official coordinator for this whole event. Bill explained to me some of the upcoming events of the conference such as a word from the Chariman of the Cotton Council on the big picture of the cotton market today. There will also be an overall industry outlook from Cotton Incorporated. CI will give an economic outlook and point out commodity prices and options for farmers. There will be a discussion on the improvement of cotton in the last ten years especially in terms of fiber quality and the market shift from domestic to export. Case International and John Deere represenatives will give a briefing on the new Red Picker and the new Green Picker. There is more information to be covered in the coming days and you can rest assured that I will keep you abreast of what going here in Nashville.
